Yikes. The #CANMNT had a friendly vs. Uzbekistan ๐บ๐ฟ (ranked 50th) in a downpour in Edmonton. It was an opportunity to see how ready Canada is for the World Cup IN TWO WEEKS.... And wow... What a mess... They looked disconnected, no flow, poor decisions on the ball, mistakes all over...if the Uzbeks had more skill up front then Canada would have been punished... In spite of themselves they managed to get out of a disheartening first half even at zero. The issue is all the injuries on the team. Canada's best players are all dealing with something... *if* they can even play in two weeks, who knows what fitness and preparedness the players with have?? Guys at 80% for the World Cup??! Yikes. The second half was a bit better and they did score two goals but the overall play was no where near good enough for where it should be so close to the biggest tournament of their lives...Another friendly vs. ๐ฎ๐ช Ireland on Friday.
I guess I never updated the Stanley cup finals... The Habs went out with a whimper against the Canes setting up a ratings nightmare final of Canes v. Golden Knights. Two teams I can't start... Vegas scored late in the 3rd to win by a goal in the first game. Meh.
